Dorothy Shankweiler Miller, 98, of Allentown, formerly of Orefield, passed away peacefully at home on October 25. Born January 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Amelia (Shankweiler) Nagle. She was the wife of the late Roy A. Miller, Jr., with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.

From her "snazzy" perfectly accessorized outfits to her skillfully coordinated home décor, Dorothy's sense of style was classic. She was an expert seamstress and excelled at knitting, crochet, and needlework. There wasn't a craft she wouldn't tackle, from ceramics to that one time she made a quilt (never again). She loved all things floral, be it arranging or gardening, and was a founding member and past president of the Parkland Garden Club. Dorothy also volunteered at her church, Union Lutheran in Neffs.

Above all, Dorothy loved her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. From Sunday dinners and Christmas celebrations to annual trips to OCNJ, she never missed an opportunity to create a memory (or a list). Buttered noodles will never taste the same without her.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dianne Houck (Richard), son, Timothy Miller (Monica), grandchildren, Sara Solomon, Andrew Houck, Katie Auriemma, Megan Suhocki, Carrie Russell, Emily Hibay, Timothy Miller, Allison Weinfeld, Nicholas Miller, and Benjamin Miller, and great-grandchildren, Liam and Claire Solomon, Peyton and Sophia Auriemma, Ainsley and Inara Suhocki, Jasper Hibay, Jack and Patrick Weinfeld, and Madison and Brooke Miller.

A service will be held privately. Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
