Dorothy Mae North

Dorothy Mae North, 89 of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Dorothy was born on February 18, 1933 to George Mearl and Ethel May Hart. Dorothy graduated from Stoutsville High School in 1951. After marrying Frederick Jay North Sr, she worked at the family business from 1979 until her retirement in 1992. She was an advocate member of the Quota Club from 1982 until 2014. She enjoyed bowling with her sister, cousins, and friends in the Lancaster Bowling League. Dorothy was an amazing cook who made everything from scratch.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 71 years, Frederick Sr.; children, Paula Garner, Frederick Jr (Paula), and Mark Anthony (Robin); grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Jason, Markie, Mathew, Erick, Miranda, and Macaulen; great grandchildren, Sierra, Tazzmerah, Austin, Kamora, Alieya, Leoncio, Mason, Levi and Kennedy; and siblings, Phyllis Hollar and Paul Hart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son in law, Pam and Narvil Casey; son in law, Randy Garner; and siblings, Jonny and Gladys.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10 am at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at Amanda Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 pm-8 pm at the funeral home.
