Dorothy Mae Pierjok, beloved business owner of Pier 5 Bar and Kitchen for 23 years, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 9, 1926, to Joseph and Zella Yenicek. Dorothy found solace in nature, relishing in weekends spent camping and basking in the serenity of Lake Viking. These moments of tranquility brought her immense joy and rejuvenated her adventurous soul. One of Dorothy's greatest treasures was her family, whom she cherished above all else. Whether it was sharing laughter around the dinner table or simply enjoying each other's company, she found true happiness in their presence. A devout member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Kansas City, MO, Dorothy's faith was a guiding light in her life. She found comfort and community within the walls of the church, nurturing her spiritual growth alongside fellow parishioners. In honoring Dorothy's memory, let us carry forward the values she held dear: kindness, generosity, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she was loved beyond measure and that her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband: Herman Pierjok; daughter: Darlene Shaffer; son in law: Ray Shaffer; and great granddaughter: Maddy Shaffer.
She is survived by her sons: Wayne (Jacquelyn) Pierjok, and Greg (Shelli) Pierjok; grandchildren: Duane (Jamie) Shaffer, Denise Shaffer, Rachel (Zachery) Davison, and Joseph Pierjok; step grandchildren: Lisa Highfill, and Rebecca Arteago; great grandchildren: Bergen Shaffer and Hendrix Steele; as well as many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
