Dorothy Billingsley Pulliam, 90, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Reidsville Alliance Church with Rev. Peter Dodge officiating .Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
The family will see friends on Friday evening from 5-7 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Dorothy was born in Rockingham County to the late Edmond Dow Billingsley and Pearl Carter Billingsley and lived on US 29 Business most of her life. She graduated class of 1950 from Reidsville High School and was employed with Creighton 27 years , Sears and also Pulliams Grocery. For over 75 years she was a member of the Reidsville Alliance Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was also a member of Westwood Rockingham County Home Extension Club and enjoyed being a homemaker, working in her flower garden, reading and was most happy when she took trips to White Lake with her family. She was a very loving mother and grandmother to them all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John “Johnny” Paul Pulliam, Sr.; brothers Dillard Billingsley and wife Norma, Charlie Billingsley and wife Doris and J.T. Billingsley; sister Mildred Billingsley; son-in-law Donnie Priddy and nephews Barry Billingsley and Bill Billingsley.
Survivors include her daughter Joyce Marie Priddy; son John Paul Pulliam, Jr. and wife Christy; grandchildren Jennifer Priddy, John Pulliam and wife Heather, T.J. Davis and wife Zy, Cale Priddy, Brandon Pulliam and wife Leslie, Mindy Huffines and husband, Hunter; great grandchildren Makayla Davis, Luke Pulliam, Miranda Davis and Parker Huffines; sisters-in-law Louise Billingsley and Shirley Boles; brother-in-law Donald Pulliam and many other loving family members.
A special thanks is extended to her caregiver Sylvia Hairston from Bayada Home Care for the wonderful assistance given to Dorothy.
