Laura Sue Kidd Dismuke, age 78 passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Treutlen Health and Rehab in Soperton. She was born in Reidsville on December 19, 1947, to William and Emma Wells Kidd and had lived in the New Branch Community most of her life.
Laura graduated from Reidsville High School in 1965 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Education from Brewton Parker College. She dedicated 25 years of her career to Walmart, where she contributed her time and talents, building lasting relationships with her colleagues and customers.
Laura had a passion for sewing, often spending many hours at her sewing machine, which was a cherished gift from her father during her teenage years. Her ability to create beautiful garments and crafts reflected her gentle spirit and creativity. In addition to her love for sewing, she found joy in reading, often losing herself in the pages of a good book.
Laura was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William "Bill" Kidd.
She is survived by her children, Danny (Tanya) Dismuke and Susan (Allen) Morgan all of Lyons; siblings, John T. (Connie) Kidd of Patterson and Harold (Jane) Kidd of Reidsville; grandchildren, Alexandria Dismuke, Jacob T. Dismuke, Katelyn "Breanna" Mosley, Robert "Chase" Wickstrom, and MaKayla Lynn Hickman; great grandchildren, Lilah Marie Mosley and Justin Lee Lynn; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 29, 2025 beginning at 1:30pm with the funeral services to follow at 3:00pm from the Chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home with the Reverend Douglas Whigham officiating. Interment will be in the Glennville City Cemetery.
