ROME CITY - Dorothy Louise Ritchie, 73, of Rome City, Indiana, went home to her Savior on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1950, in Hindman, Kentucky, to Cephas and Ola (Slone) Mosley.
In May 1967, she married Lee Ritchie Jr. He survives in Rome City.
Dorothy retired from Pent Assemblies in Rome City and Garrett.
She was a member of Grace Christian Church in Kendallville.
Dorothy was very giving, loving, caring and kind, with a true heart of gold. She enjoyed worshipping the Lord and her faith was very strong right to the end, when the Lord called her home. She dearly loved her family and was a wonderful, wife, mother, mamaw, sister and friend.
Also surviving are two sons, Rodney Ritchie, of Rome City and Scotty (Nicole) Ritchie, of Wolcottville; three grandsons, Trey Ritchie, Chase Ritchie and Kobe Ritchie; a granddaughter, Kayla Morse; three sisters, Lorie Holliday, of Rome City, Flossie Davis, of Kendallville and Betty Abner, of Ligonier; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lovella Mosley, Elsie Mae Napier and Norris Marie Graber; and five brothers, Alonzo Mosley, Taulby Mosley, LeRoy Mosley, Ellis Mosley and James Mosley.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at noon, at Grace Christian Church, 126 E. Mitchell St., Kendallville, with Pastor Chris Mosley officiating.
Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery, near Rome City.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kobe Ritchie, Todd Patrick, Joey Sorrell, Carter Sorrell, Roy Mosley and Rodney Ritchie. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Baker, Marty Abner, Trey Ritchie, Chase Ritchie, Scotty Ritchie and Greg Abner.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 5-8 p.m., and Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 4-8 p.m., with an evening service at 6 p.m., and on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service, all at the church.
