Loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt Canandaigua-Dorothy "Myrna" (Meenan) Rizzo, age 80, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at home, surrounded by her family. She is survived by five children, Sue (Ralph) Burgess, Tricia (Jay) Daniels, Michael (Sue) Rizzo, James Rizzo and Robert (Kerry) Rizzo; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, (her twin) Pat (Rock) Pietropaolo and Ann Skinner; brother, Robert A. (Brenda) Meenan; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Matthew M. Rizzo in 1979; grandson, Paul Allan Burgess in 1977; sister, Maggie Meenan in 2009; and niece, Sonjia Skinner in 2002. Dorothy was born on Long Island, NY and was the daughter of Robert and Marjorie (Wing) Meenan. She was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1951. Dorothy worked at the former Wayne Drug in Canandaigua for over 30 years. She raised and showed English Setters for many years. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's athletic and school events. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. There will be no calling hours. Her Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148, Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, NY 14456, or the American Lung Association, 1595 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14621. Arrangements are by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., Canandaigua. Condolences may be offered at www.johnsonkennedy.com.
