Dorothy Sands, 58, of Worcester, MA, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024.
Dorothy was born in West Hartford, CT on April 4, 1966, to John G.E. Sands and Louise K. (Strachan) Sands. Dorothy graduated from North High School, class of 1984. After graduating high school, Dorothy had gone on to Clark University where she was able to obtain her master’s degree in communications.
Dorothy was an avid painter, an adored mother, and a source of comfort and stability for whoever needed her most. She brought love and kindness with her wherever she went, with a bright smile and open arms. No matter what she was going through, she was selfless almost to a fault.
Sadly, Dorothy was predeceased by her father, John G.E. Sands of Andros, Bahamas.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Diannah McDonald of Weymouth, MA, Russell McDonald of Weymouth, MA and John McDonald of Weymouth, MA; her devoted mother, Louise Sands of Nassau, Bahamas; her cherished siblings, Phillip, DeidreAnn, Jonathan, Wilfred, David, Joseph, Arebella of Manhattan, NY, Courtney, and Marc of Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A period of calling hours will be held for Dorothy on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. A Funeral Service to remember the beautiful life Dorothy shared with us will begin promptly at 2:30 p.m.
