John Jacob Sands

John Jacob Sands, Jr., 72, of Souderton, Pennsylvania, formerly of Doylestown and Southampton, PA, entered into rest on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at St. Luke's Grand View Hospital in Sellersville.

He was the beloved husband of Joan Elizabeth (Kalix) Sands, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Jacob Sands, Sr. and the late Ellen Jane (Hoptroff) Sands.

John graduated from Neshaminy High School, Class of 1971, and went on to attend Spring Garden College in Philadelphia.

Early in his career, John worked as an attendant at a local gas station in Feasterville and later as a draftsman for the former Betz Laboratories. He spent the majority of his professional life as a Sales Manager for Johnson March Systems in Ivyland, PA, where he dedicated 46 years of service.

John was a faithful member of Pleasantville United Church of Christ in Chalfont.

He loved his work and cherished traveling, visiting 68 countries during his career. He loved going to the beach and attending his granddaughters' sporting events. He will be remembered for generously supporting his family and always putting them first. His greatest joy was taking annual summer vacations to Disney, the Caribbean, and the Jersey Shore where he created lasting memories with his family.

John will be remembered as a hardworking, generous, resilient and loving man with a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children: Jacob Sands and his wife, Melanie, of Doylestown, PA; Josh Sands and his wife, Amy, of New Hope, PA; Julie Della Rocca and her husband, Chris, of Perkasie, PA; and James Sands and his wife, Brittani, of New Smyrna Beach, FL. He is also survived by his six granddaughters: Thea, Lillian, Alice, and Hadley Sands, and Lucy and Madelyn Della Rocca; as well as his brother, William Sands and his wife, Kim, of Furlong, PA. John is also survived by his extended family who loved him dearly.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Pleasantville United Church of Christ, 3424 Limekiln Pike, Chalfont, PA 18914, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM.
