Harry Wiley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 9, 2026.
Harry James Wiley, 86, of Doylestown, PA, passed away on March 5, 2026 at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA. Born in Abington, PA, Harry was a life long area resident.

Harry is formerly from Penndel, growing up beside the Monmouth Skating Rink. He is a graduate of Neshaminy High School, Class of 1958. Harry served in the U.S. Army 3rd Armored Division from 1963 to 1969, mainly in Germany as the chaperone of a 5 Star General, staying in the same place as Elvis Presley.

He worked for the Acme Markets for 41 years as the Grocery Manager in many different stores. His biggest pleasure was his weekly roller-skating night at Holiday Rink in Delanco, NJ. He was one of the smoothest and best skaters and he had many good friends there. Harry enjoyed his Monday night team bowling at the Penndel Lanes with his friend "Louey". He was well-known by and proud of his classic black 1957 Chevy which he drove every day for many years, another love of his. Harry always looked forward to his yearly vacation to Ocean City, NJ with his family and friends. He might have been called a "beach bum" as he loved relaxing on the beach. He was always full of unique ideas and ways of fixing things and prided himself on his accomplishments. Harry was always willing to try different things and was happy when he succeeded.

Harry was a member of Newtown Lodge #427 and a 32 degree Mason of Allentown for over 50 years.

Harry is the son of the late Walter R. and Martha Wiley, brother to his late twin, Larry, and his late niece Karen. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Dorothy Stevens Wiley and his former wife, Barbara. He is the father of Gary Wiley, Joan and her husband John, Wendi, Robert Sr. and his wife Judy Adams, and Jeffrey and his wife Karen Adams. He is the proud grandfather of Maggie, Sadie, Randy, Cassidy, Robert Jr, Ryan (Maria), Brian and Jackie. Harry is also survived by his great grandchildren and his niece Kristen and great nephews Tyler and Dylan and great niece Grace.

Relatives and friends are invited to Harry's Life Celebration on Saturday, March 14. 2026 from 10 to 11 AM at the Swartz Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave, Newtown, PA, 18940. Interment will be private at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in Harry's name may be made to the Guardian of the National Cemetery, P.O. Box 233, Newtown, PA 18940 or https://guardiansofthenationalcemetery.org/donations/donates.
