Robert L. Somers

Robert L. Somers, age 79, of Warwick, PA, passed away on Tuesday March 3, 2026, at his home after a yearlong battle with cancer. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, he was a longtime resident of New Jersey prior to moving to Bucks County, Pennsylvania in November of 2020. Robert was a life-long Yankees fan and devoted Grandfather who could always be found at the sidelines of his grandchildren's games. Upon graduation from High School, Robert enlisted in the Navy where he served in both Active and Reserve Duty roles at the Pentagon during the Vietnam War. After his service, Robert was employed for many years by General Electric at their power production facility in Elizabeth, NJ. Beloved son of the late Agnes (Brodniak) and Lawrence Somers, he is survived by his beloved wife JoAnn (Zliczewski), his sons Robert Somers and wife Mandy, James Somers and wife Caitlin, his sisters Gloria Beveridge and husband George, Nancy Mastropieri and husband Larry, his grandchildren Rose and Colin Somers, in-law's John and JoAnne Zliczewski and Cheryl Somers as well as several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Somers and sister Arlene. Family and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration on Wednesday March 11, 2026 from 11am to 12:30pm at the Swartz Givnish Funeral Home 323 E. Washington Ave. Newtown, PA 18940, where his funeral service will begin at 12:30pm. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
