Fifty plus years of friendship. Sharing his love of jokes and puns (some were actually funny), music, different experiences, food and just his love of life. Joe always had a positive and upbeat outlook and a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he met. We will miss the messages he left on our voice mail and on his phone greeting. But mostly, will miss the joy and happiness we always felt just being around him. He left us way to soon and we will always cherish his memory. Until we meet again my friend.

When we think of Joel we will always remember all the laughs and fun we have had with him. They will live with us forever.

Steve and I are still in shock and numb! We had just talked to Joe New Year´s Eve. Joe was the best, so kind and considerate. He Was the Best Man in our wedding. He always made me laugh. After we moved he shared pictures of his family and Grandchildren with us by text. We will never forget his messages he would leave on our phone if we weren´t home. Latest was " this is JD Vance calling" Joe and Steve were texting back and forth during the Super Bowl like they were watching it together. I could go on forever about my fond memories. RIP Joe we love you and will miss you dearly.

Joe´s passing was a total shock to Marilyn and I. I had been texting him weekly over the last year and we even carried on conversations during the CU games. Now the last Somers brother is gone. As Jim Chidley had pointed out the purple basement, the dandelion wine and tunnels in vacant lots. All good memories. Joe was best man at our wedding and always had a good attitude towards people and life. This leaves a hole in our hearts. Rest in peace Joe. Steve Wirth

Shocked and sad. Was with Joey just a few weeks ago and he was happy and healthy. So many memories with him .... painting his basement dark purple, making dandelion wine at fifteen, starting a pie fight in the lunchroom, digging tunnels in the vacant lot next to his house. A huge loss.
