Marie L. Eells

Marie L. Eells of Newtown, PA passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 27, 2026. She was 90.

Marie was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Robert J. Eells, Sr. whom we lost in 2022. They lived in the Parkwood Section of Northeast Philadelphia for over 50 years prior to moving to Newtown, PA in 2014.

She was born in Philadelphia in 1935; Marie was the daughter of the late Lewis and Marie Hess (Daniels) and the sister to the late Lewis Hess.

Marie was the matriarch of the Eells family. Marie was a true mom. She thrived on having the house cleaned, laundry done, and dinner on the table at 5:00 PM every day.

Marie loved fun! Those who knew her well would remember her full-hearted laugh. She enjoyed good times with family at birthdays and holidays. Marie loved dancing and having fun with her family and will be forever remembered.

Marie enjoyed playing slots in Atlantic City with Bob. She also loved vacations at the Jersey Shore and enjoyed fishing on their boat "The Just Marie". Marie was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed her time with her husband visiting Florida for Spring Training.

Her last few years were challenging for her, but never did she quit. She was given a great life with the steadfast love of her two amazing Caregivers, Lesley and Ashley.

She is survived by her loving children Robert J. Eells and his wife Andrea of Langhorne, Susan Myers (Eells) and her husband Ken of Newtown. She is also survived by her wonderful grandchildren: Robert Eells III, Kenneth Myers III (fiancée Emily Yanchuck), Samantha O'Farrell (Myers) and her husband Ciarnan, her sister-in-law Roberta Hess, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie's life was a testament to the power of caring for others, and her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone she inspired.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and remember Marie and Bob's remarkable journey on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 11:00 am until the start of their church service at 11:30 am in St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 65 East Street Road Feasterville, PA 19053. Marie will be laid to rest with Bob at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA at 1:30PM.
