Dorothy M. Schinckel

March 7, 1927 - November 12, 2025

Dorothy M. Schinckel, 98, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. A private interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline.

Dorothy was born on March 7, 1927 in Frankfurt, MO, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Willet) Ruby. She married Emil Schinckel on August 13, 1949, in Rock Island, he preceded her in passing. Dorothy enjoyed cross stitching, reading, and taking care of her flowers. She loved spending time with family, especially playing games with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Sandra Armstrong, Linda Mekus, Deborah Costello, Pamela (Russell) Frohock, and Candace (Kent) Donis; grandchildren, Dale (Alma) Nipper, Candy (James) Wadkins, Scott Nipper, Christopher Apostolopoulos, Karisa Apostolopoulos, Emily (Trenton) Ramirez, Zach (Lindsey) Donis, and Julie (Jacob) Elkins; 11 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Patsy Schinckel. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Robert Schinckel; and 9 brothers and sisters.
