Dorothy "Dottie" (Boyce) Schraudt, 85, of Searcy, formerly of Memphis, Tenn., passed away on Sept. 3, 2025, at Mira Assisted Living in Maumelle. She was born on Oct. 4, 1939, in Memphis to the late James and Dorothy (Rutland) Boyce.
Dottie had a deep love for children and a lifelong passion for teaching, spending over 30 years sharing her gift of education at Memphis Harding Academy, Memphis City Schools and even women's prisons. Her heart for service extended beyond the classroom as she served on the board of Agape Child & Family Services in Memphis and, alongside her husband, was actively involved in the Kiwanis Club of Searcy. A devoted member of the Church of Christ throughout her life, Dottie's greatest joy came from her faith, her family and the opportunity to pour love and guidance into the lives of others.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, George Jeffrey Schraudt (Amy) and Ann Marie Schraudt-Cook (Ronald); grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Schraudt, John McKenzie Cook and Caleb William Cook; great-grandchildren, Harlan Jefferson Haynes and Otis Redding Haynes; one sister, Marcie Madewell; as well as two nieces and one nephew. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George William Schraudt.
