Dorothy Silvers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home - El Dorado Springs on Jan. 22, 2026.
Dorothy Joan (Krause) Silvers, 89, passed away at home on January 21, 2026. Dorthy was born on August 10, 1936, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Walter and Dora Krause. She was raised in Southern California alongside her two younger sisters, Barbara Nelson and Marcia Dowler, forming lifelong bonds rooted in family and faith.

On December 20, 1953, at the age of 17, Dorothy eloped with Charles C. Silvers, beginning a marriage marked by devotion, partnership, and unwavering commitment. She stood by Charlie's side during his years of building the tack strip business and growing their family. Their union endured for nearly 68 years, lasting until Charles's passing in 2021.

Dorothy loved Jesus above all else, and her faith shaped every part of her life. Her family was her greatest earthly joy, and she cherished each generation with pride, tenderness, and steadfast love.

In 1981, Dorothy and Charlie purchased what would become Silverline Ranch, a place that quickly became central to their lives and legacy. It was there that Dorothy discovered her passion for llamas, eventually caring for more than forty at one time. Her enthusiasm for them became a defining and joyful chapter of her life.

Dorothy was a woman of strength, conviction, and determination. She knew what she wanted, pursued it with purpose, and lived her life with grace, faith, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy will continue through the generations she nurtured and the faith she modeled.

She is survived by her oldest daughter, Beverly Duff and her son, Craig Silvers. Dorothy was the loving grandmother of Beverly's daughters, Christina Silvers and Katherine Hunter; Craig's children: Cristen Sardo, Chelsea Wherry, Scott Silvers, Andrew Silvers, and Nicholas Silvers; Christopher Silvers daughter, Claire Silvers; and numerous great-grandchildren. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in watching her family grow.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two infant children, Shelly and Randy; her youngest son, Christopher Silvers; and her grandson, Clancy Silvers.

You were the best sister-in-law anyone could ever ask for. Your presence brought warmth and light into our lives, and your absence leaves a void that can never truly be filled. While you are no longer with us, the love and kindness you shared will live on. You fought the good fight with incredible strength, and now you rest in peace, knowing you were loved beyond measure.
