In Loving Memory of Dorothy Snyder
April 27, 1949 – September 23, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Dorothy Snyder, age 76, who left us peacefully on September 23, 2025. A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, Dorothy began and ended her remarkable career in accounting at Alcoa, where her dedication, professionalism, and quiet strength left a lasting impact on colleagues and friends alike. Never one to slow down, Dorothy embraced life with boundless energy and a joyful heart. A passionate reader, she could often be found with a Kindle in hand or busy planning her next travel excursion. Her days were filled with music, dance, and community. She line danced three times a week, played the steel drums with the Steel City Boomers, and was an active volunteer on the library committee at Friendship Village, where she brought her love of books and connection to others to life. But above all, Dorothy will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends. She was the heart of every gathering, the listening ear, the encouraging voice, and the one who always made you feel seen and valued. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Snyder, and her parents Clara and William Howley. She is survived by her sister and traveling companion Kathy Ramassini (John), sister Mary Lou Mathias (Chuck), nieces Joanne dePoutiloff (Bob) and Krista Sipos (Dan), nephews Chuck Mathias, Rich Ramassini (Kristy), Dave Ramassini (Amanda), and Steve Ramassini (Kristin). She is further survived by thirteen Great nieces and nephews and many, many dear friends. Family and friends are welcome 3-7 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2025, FREYVOGEL-SLATER FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 112 Fort Couch Road, Bethel Park 15241.
