Dorothy M. Stoffa, 91, of Drums and formally of Sayre, died Thursday at her residence at Providence Place Senior Living with family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Francis J. Stoffa, in 1999.
She is survived by children, Theresa and husband, Henry Yorgey, Pottstown; Dorothy and husband, Jerry, Drums; Francis Stoffa Jr., Washington, D.C.; and Robert and wife, Carmen Stoffa, Cranberry Twp. She was loved by her grandchildren, Joshua and wife, Katie Halley; Matthew Halley; Andrew Halley; Sarah Johnson and partner, Brian Jesse; Stacy and husband, Bill Johnson; Rose and her husband, Jason Piper; David Johnson; Stefanie and husband, Russell Grant; Ashley and husband, Bryce Burke; and Robert Stoffa and fiancée, Catherine Brenc. "MomMom," as she was called, was blessed with great-grandchildren, Elijah and Felix Halley; Sawyer McSween; Lauren Johnson; James and Quentin Piper; and Nathan Grant.
She is also survived by brothers, Andrew and wife, Judy Murman; and Thomas and wife, Louise Murman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys Oshman, Helen Barrett and Mary Farrell.
Dorothy was born in Freeland, Sept. 24, 1931, to parents, Andrew and Helen Wilkinson Murman. She was a graduate of Foster Twp. High School and earned a registered nursing degree from the Hazleton State Hospital School of Nursing. She resided in Sayre from 1959 until she moved to Drums in 2013. She was an active member of both Epiphany Parish in Sayre and Good Shepherd Parish in Drums.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 87 South Hunter Highway, Drums. Public viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery next to the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of her great-niece, Carissa Barrett, or to any other charity of your choice.
