Dorothy Sudweeks
Monroe, Utah
Dorothy Rae Barney Sudweeks was born in Panguich Utah on June 3,1952 to James Duane Barney and Rhoda Reynolds. Dorothy was an adventurous little girl who grew up being strong willed.
Dorothy met the love of her life Elvin Mac Sudweeks in 1970. They were married in Manti, Utah April, 18, 1970. The two of them raised their two children Marci Rae and Kacy Duane in Richfield.
For the last 40 years Dorothy enjoyed camping down at Bryce Canyon, Koosharem Reservoir and Otter Creek. She enjoyed hunting & could spot a deer from a mile away. She enjoyed fishing & just being outdoors with her sweetheart.
She is survived by her husband, Mac; son, Kacy Barney; siblings, Gary (Brenda) Barney and Rex (Micki) Barney; in-laws, Donny (LaNeeta) Sudweeks, Devere (Sharon) Sudweeks, Floris (Kathy) Sudweeks, Marie (Kenny) Peterson. Grandchildren: Crystabal (Dave) Poormon, Julie (Triston) Nielson, Lacey (Kody) Anderson, Jaden Gulbransen and Makayla Smith and 11 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marci Rae Smith; grandson, Kendrick Mac Gulbransen and great-granddaughter Paisley Ann Anderson.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral service on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Monroe 5th Ward Chapel. There will be a viewing Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at Magleby Mortuary and on Monday morning prior to services from 9:30 - 10:30 am at the church. Interment will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
