Dorothy Ann (Koblesky) Tortorici, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. She was born on May 30, 1933, to the late Rose (Gizowski) and Theodore Koblesky. Beloved wife of the late Sam Tortorici. She is also predeceased by her children Julie and Kenny, whose memories she cherished.
Dorothy was a woman of warmth, grace, and quiet strength. She devoted her life to her family and her community, offering kindness, patience, prayers, and wisdom to everyone she met. Her gentle spirit and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She guided farmworkers and their children to learn to read and was a master seamstress and quilter. She was a miniaturist and an embroider and she left many memories in her beautiful quilts for family and soft flannel receiving blankets for mom and babies in need.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Jeannine (Jose) Uribe, her grandchildren Carlos (Katelyn), Ricardo and Isabel (Sam) as well as two great-grandchildren, Emilia and Diego. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews and friends.
A memorial service for Dorothy will be held at a later date in Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Philly House https://www.phillyhouse.org/ to help shelter men in Philadelphia.
Dorothy will be remembered always for her love, faith, and compassion—a beautiful legacy that will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
