Dorothy Trail Obituary
Dorothy J. Trail, 95, of Maumee, Ohio, formerly of South Toledo, passed away in her home on Saturday, June 7, 2025, with her family at her bedside. Born November 30, 1929, in Curtice, Ohio, to Fredrick Franklin and Emma Margaret (Jenson) Mathews. Dorothy was a longtime member of the former Faith Community United Church of Christ, serving in various capacities for many years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her former husband, Earl E. Trail; son, Mark Trail; daughter, Susan Trail; and 10 Brothers and Sisters. Surviving are her daughters, Linda (Walter) Ralph, Earlene (Eugene) Billings, Debra Trail, Cathy (Roger) Hammack; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, who she never thought of as being step. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
The family will receive friends at The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., where services will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. A special thank you to Heartland Home Hospice for all your care during this time, especially to Jamie and Dru. Sending my condolences to all of Dorothy's Family. She has been a very loving Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and on down the line of greats. She also has been my Sister-in-law for over 70 yrs. Dot, you have given a lot of love in your lifetime.
