Dorothy Mae Walters, 71, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.

She was born Thursday, December 10, 1953 to the late Bill Hiday and Norma Jean (Smith) Scott in Noblesville, Indiana.

Dorothy was a family woman. She enjoyed cooking family dinners, and she loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Dorothy also enjoyed gardening and crocheting. When she could, she liked to travel and being at the beach was her favorite place. Dorothy was also a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Keith" Walters; son, James Walters, II (Dixie); daughter, Tabitha Longstreath (Doug); grandchildren, James Walters, III, Danielle Walters, Edward Longstreath, Reba Longstreath, and Steven Kaiser; great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Olivia, Miley, Adalynn, Kinlee, Maylee, Kaidin, Braxton, Ashton, Jordan, Levi, Conner, Paislee, Katelynn, Skyla; brother, James L. Scott; sister, Barbara Costin.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Norma Jean.

A Celebration of Life for Dorothy will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the American Legion Post 230, 701 East Morgan Street, Martinsville, IN 46151.
