Mary Emlee Hardy, 94, Martinsville, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at her home.

She was born on Monday, June 1, 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Hugh and Mary (Nichol) Mason.

Mary was a 1949 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. She received a bachelor's degree in music from Butler University and a master's degree in education from DePauw University. Mary retired from the Eminence Community School Corporation where she was an elementary teacher. Mary was a faithful member of the Zion Baptist Fellowship Church.

Surviving are her children, Steve Hardy of Hazelwood and Debbie Pool of Martinsville; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Olin R. Hardy, whom she married on June 20, 1954 and he passed away on January 17, 2008; son, Charles Hardy; parents, Hugh and Mary; sister, Patricia Kispert.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Zion Baptist Fellowship Church with Pastor Tim Pool officiating. Visitation will be prior to the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Entombment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis on Monday, October 20, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, Mary had requested for contributions to be made to Zion Baptist Fellowship Church, 7520 State Road 142, Martinsville, IN 46151.
