Ernest Rader, 76, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at his home in Brooklyn.

He was born Sunday, May 1, 1949 in Sand Springs, Kentucky to the late Tolby and Edna (Blanton) Rader. On September 24, 1968, he married his wife, Ruth (Stafford) Rader who passed away February 4, 2009. Together, they raised six children.

Ernest was a 1967 graduate of Martinsville High School and was a retiree from Allison Transmission where he worked for 30 years. Ernest enjoyed spending time with his family, spoiling his grandkids, riding ATVs, hotrods and working with his excavator.

Survivors include his three sons, Jeremy Rader (Natoya), Isaac Rader (LeAnn), Nathan Rader (Krystal); three daughters, Shanon McGuire, Amy Sheldon (Matt), Jessica Richardson (Matt); sister, Marisa Cordray (Tom); seventeen grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; parents, Tolby and Edna; baby brother Rader; sister, Shirley Rader.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 at Costin Funeral Chapel. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 with Pastor Brandon Sichting officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service Saturday, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Ernest will be laid to rest at Centerton Cemetery.
