Dorothy Carter Wicks

Dorothy Wicks, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on September 14, 2025.

She lived a long and beautiful life marked by faith, music, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided her in everything she did. She found strength in prayer, joy in gospel music, and purpose in living out her beliefs with love and kindness toward others. Her favorite scripture was Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." These words shaped the way she lived and remain a comfort to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers; her son, Ricky; and her daughter, Pam.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa, and her son, Len. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Stephanie, Zackery, Staci, and Brittany; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.

Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the importance of family. She found great joy in music, especially gospel singing, and her voice and spirit touched countless lives. She will be remembered for her humor, her protective nature, her many lessons, her deep faith, and the comfort she brought simply by being present.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Levi, Isaiah Mainer, Zackary Price, Lealand Whitman, Ryan Whitman, and Sawyer Whitman. Honorary pallbearers are Jase Levi, David Mainer, Tucker Price, Wyatte Price, and Colby Whitman.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Victorian Manor and Vitas Healthcare for their kind and compassionate care.

While her family and friends mourn her loss, they celebrate her legacy of faith, love, music, and strength, which will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral service for Dorothy Wicks will be held on Friday September 19, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel, 6405 Highway 90 W, Milton Florida 32570, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.
