Dorothy "Dotty" Wisowaty

Dorothy Wisowaty (nee O'Neill), 94, of Pompton Plains, formerly of Jersey City, passed away on March 25, 2025.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Dorothy, who was affectionately known as Dotty, was the daughter of the late Frank and Georgianna O'Neill. She fell in love with Stanley Wisowaty, the boy who lived two blocks away, and the couple was married on October 16, 1954. They remained in Jersey City where they raised three sons and one daughter. Once her youngest turned 7, Dotty returned to work as a clerk for Colgate and Sound Design. She retired at the age of 65 and enjoyed going on cruises, especially to Bermuda and the Caribbean.
Dotty is lovingly survived by her sons, Frank and his wife Ronnie and Robert and his wife Kristine; her daughter in-law, Debra; her grandchildren, Christopher, Brian, James, Robert, and Jessica; and her beloved dog, Holly. She was predeceased by her daughter Dolly in 1997, her husband Stanley in 2008, and her son William in 2024.
Visiting hours will be held from 9-11 am Tuesday, April 1 at Cedar Crest Chapel, 1 Cedar Crest Drive, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444. A funeral service will conclude the visitation at 11 am. At the gate please let the guard know you are attending Dorothy's service. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dotty's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated by her family.
