Dortha Jane Manuel, 87, of Beebe, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2025. She was born on March 10, 1938, in Rosie, Arkansas to Troy and Mable Platt. Dortha served as a pastor’s wife from 1969 to 2012. She was a surgical nurse at White County Hospital in Searcy, Arkansas and worked as a nurse for many years at the Conway Human Development Center (formerly the Arkansas Children’s Colony), in Conway, Arkansas.
She is survived by her daughter; Tena Foster of Chickasha, Oklahoma, her son; Wendyl (Ellen) Manuel of Heber Springs, Arkansas, one grandson; Josh (Deanna) Jeffery of Beebe, Arkansas, six great-grandchildren, one sister; Shirley (Donald) Hefley of Harrison, Arkansas, and one brother; Troy (Rebecca) Platt of North Little Rock, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Gene Manuel, one infant son; Stanley Manuel, and one granddaughter; Kayle Kelly.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Egner Cemetery, 1689 Allen Chapel Rd, Batesville, AR 72501. Online guestbook at www.smithfamilycares.com
