Veola Laverne Webb

Veola Laverne Webb, died peacefully at home with family on March 2, 2026. She was the 5th of ten children born on August 17, 1936, in Beebe, Arkansas. With her husband of 57 years, she owned a concrete construction business and a 400-acre farm on Augsburg Mountain. In 1973, they were named the first Farm Family of the year for Pope County, operating a large poultry and cattle operation.

Veola was a very accomplished woman, known for her commitment to excellence in all she did. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a longtime member of The Church of God of Prophecy, serving as a teacher and clerk. Veola enjoyed shopping, fashion, decorating, flowers, cooking, sewing, singing hymns, her cat Callie, and making holidays special. She had a deep concern for children, serving as a foster parent and assisting single mothers.

Along with her parents, Venious McElyea and Mark Ellis, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Webb. She looked forward to being reunited with siblings: Beatrice "Bea" Burkett, Alline Thompson, Lois Cox, Norma "Glenn" Tacker, Elizabeth "Liz"Edwards, Kenneth Ellis, and Carl Ellis.

She is survived by four children that reside in Russellville: Sharon (Dan) Baker, Janet (Bob) Scott, Ronald (Gana) Webb, Lisa (Steve) Owens; nine grandchildren: Michael, Brian, Kristen, Lauren, Randi, Kyle, Elizabeth, Hannah and Hunter; eighteen great-grandchildren: Alexander, Sophia, Benjamin, Sovereign, Heidi, Daphne, Paris, Britley, Cainan, Flint, Jaxon, Adley, Aria, Jaxon, Everleigh, and Judah; and one great-great grandchild named Zayan. She is also survived by her brother Charles Ellis of Stuttgart and her sister Barbara Yarbrough of Cabot. She has many dearly loved nieces and nephews.

Veola requested a private visitation and burial for her family. Burial will be at Sumner Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas.
