Al Shingleur, 86, of Russellville, Arkansas, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was born July 16, 1939, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Flewellyn Sr. and Wanda Shingleur. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1957. On Oct. 19, 1957, he married Betty Richey Shingleur in Greenville, Mississippi. He worked as a construction supervisor for Entergy until his retirement.
A devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, Al cherished time with his family. He was a member of Russellville Christian Center. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks and spending time with those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Shingleur of Russellville; three sons, Garry Shingleur and wife Cindy, Larry Shingleur and wife Lisa, and Rick Shingleur and wife Sandra; one daughter, Lisa Shingleur Manchester; five grandchildren, Monica Irwin and husband Jason of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Sara Shingleur and husband Aaron of Russellville, Larry Shingleur Jr. and wife Laura of Dover, Katie Wilson and husband Drew of Russellville, and Lance Shingleur and wife Kathryn of Conway; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Charles Shingleur of Russellville; and two sisters, Elizabeth Kearney and husband Perry of Russellville and Patricia Tortorich of Hot Springs.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at Rest Haven Memorial Park, with the Rev. Susan Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
