Dossie Mae Henson-Davis

Dossie Mae (Henson) Davis, age 95, of New Salisbury, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026.

She was born on May 10, 1930, in Manchester, Kentucky, to Daugh and Flora (Foster) Henson. Dossie devoted many years of service as a cook for North Harrison Elementary School in Ramsey, Indiana. She was a faithful member of Faith Victory Center in Palmyra, Indiana.

Dossie loved traveling and had a deep passion for cooking, known for making the best fruitcake in the world. She had a big heart and was always eager to help others. She especially enjoyed caring for her goats and dogs and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with Christmas being her favorite time of year.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Davis; her parents, Daugh and Flora Henson; her son, Archie Harold Davis; her daughter, Holly Goodwin; and her brothers, Ottie Henson, Earl Henson, Oie Henson, Oak Henson, Bill Henson, and Curt Henson.

Dossie is survived by her children: Geneva (Paul) Barden, Jerome (Betty) Davis, Shirley (James) Snellen, and Terry (Tersea) Davis; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren & one great-great grandson, all of whom she loved dearly.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cremation was chosen.
