Doug Lee

Nettleton- Doug Lee, age 82, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025. He was born on November 7, 1943, to Noonan Lee and Inez Duvall Lee.

Doug lived life quietly and on his own terms. He found peace in simple things, especially tending to his garden and spending time with his coin collection, interests that reflected his patience and appreciation for history and detail. Though he was something of a recluse, those who knew him remember his love for storytelling and the way he could draw people in with his words. He had a grounded, down-to-earth nature and a presence that felt steady and genuine. Doug will be remembered for his simplicity, his stories, and the calm way he moved through the world.

He is survived by his sisters, Mary Sinnema (Gerald) of Richland, Texas and Sue Farmer of Tupelo; sons, Ricky Lee (Shelia) of Amory, David Lee (Becky) of Mooreville, and John Lee (Gerra) of Mooreville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Byron Lee, Wayne Lee, and James Lee; and sisters, Wilma Wesson and Due Drop Emison.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Monday, December 29, 2025, at Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring the life of Doug Lee will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues. Burial will follow at Boguefala Cemetery.
