Douglas Ray "Doug" Watson, 79, of Greenbrier, passed from this life on Sunday January 11, 2026, at the Westmoreland Care and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday January 14th at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Greenbrier with Pastor Gary Dillard officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenbrier Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Calvary Baptist Church in Greenbrier.

Mr. Watson was born September 16, 1946, in Adairville, KY, to the late Rayburn and Betty Louise Gilliam Watson. He worked 26 years for Elm Hill Meats, 4 years for Tennessee Dressed Beef, and then went on to work and retire from the City of Greenbrier with 16 years of service. Mr. Watson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenbrier. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and old cars, and he enjoyed mowing his yard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Danny and Roger Watson. Mr. Watson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Marie Castellow Watson of Greenbrier, by his children: Mary Aileen (Wayne) Maddle of Portland, Bethany Christina (Eric) Pack of Bethpage, and David Watson of Greenbrier, by his 4 grandchildren and his 9 great grandchildren.
