It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas E. Barton, who left this world on December 19, 2025, at the age of 62.
Douglas was born on November 20, 1963, in Franklin, New Hampshire. Doug grew up in Springfield, NH, and graduated from Kearsarge Regional High School in Sutton, NH, where he formed lifelong friendships and remained close with many of his childhood friends. Doug was also a longtime member of the Tilton and Laconia communities, where he built a life centered on family, friendship, and hard work.
Doug was known for his unwavering commitment and strong work ethic. He proudly served as a Maintenance Lead at Walmart, where he was well respected by colleagues for his dedication, reliability, and kindness. He consistently went above and beyond to support others and took great pride in his work.
Doug had a deep passion for fishing, especially ice fishing, and cherished the time spent on the ice and water with his cousins.
He is survived by his loving sister, Cheri Barton Evans, who will carry his memory and spirit forward. Doug deeply cherished his relationships with family and friends, and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew and loved him.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Carol (Lancaster) Barton.
A graveside service to celebrate Doug's life will be announced at a later date, when family and friends are able to gather at Springfield Cemetery in Springfield, NH. All who knew Doug are welcome to attend and share memories in his honor.
