I'm saddened to hear of Doug's passing and very thankful to have visited him a couple of years ago in Houston on one of my Louisiana visiting trips. He seemed to be the same happy and positive soul I remembered, in spite of his physical constraints. And we shared our recollections, and talked of healthcare , and the improvements that could implemented. I think we shared notes. Doug was very active. So many memories of perhaps the first person I met when first attending Sherwood Forest Elementary. We hung around on the playground and seemed to usually be on the same sports teams, even in later grades. As the years passed we both moved out of the area... But time can never eclipse the great experiences of our younger years.
