Douglas M. Burr, of Ellwood City passed away on December 8, 2025, at AHN-Wexford following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Butler on October 14, 1965, to the late Edward and Blanche Eichenauer Burr.
Doug graduated from Seneca Valley and worked at Gateway Recycling for 12 years. For 15 years he served as a Franklin Twp Volunteer Fireman. Doug was an avid fan of dirt track racing and was a valued member of the Shayne Izzo Motorsport Crew. He enjoyed working on cars and most recently on tractors.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Fran Strealy Burr; three sons, Doug (Kristina) Burr of Tennessee, Dan (Amy) Burr of Ellwood City and Dustin (Laura) Burr of New Castle; six grandchildren, Douglas, Nicholas, Lucas, Deborah, Emma, and Wyatt. In addition to his immediate family, Doug is survived by his sister, Relda Kroner of Shaler; sisters-in-law Cindy Green of Kentucky and Dixie Eichenauer; brother-in-law Robert Strealy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also held a special bond with friends, including Jared, Lisa Nash, Porter, and Griffy, and his beloved "grand doggers".
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his sister, Barb Short; and brother, George Burr.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday December 11, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 until the funeral service at 8:00 PM at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
