Doug graduated from Mitchell Senior High School in 1971 and moved to St. Paul, Mn. right after graduation. West Publishing, St. Paul, Mn., was fortunate to have Doug as shift and maintenance coordinator for 32 years. After his retirement, he became an apartment caretaker/mgr. for an additional ten years until his health issues became his priority. In his free time, his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy spending countless hours supporting their activities, always being there to offer support, love, encouragement which was a testament to his big heart.
Doug grew up hunting and fishing with his family and shared that love through camping in his later years. He was at peace enjoying nature right out his patio door daily.
Left to Cherish his memories is Kali (Michael) Cadwell, Inver Grove Heights, Melanie and Mason Rentera (grandchildren), Cory Cadwell (Round Rock, Texas), Colton, Calvin, & Evelyn Cadwell (grandchildren), Debi Buetow Cadwell, Steve, Sue, Dale, Pam, Paula Beutow, Inver Grove Heights, Michael (LInda) Cadwell, Sioux City, Iowa, Lori (Todd) Thie, Sioux Falls, SD., Debbie (late Rod) Heinrich, Fairmont, Mn. Terryl (late Denny) Cadwell, Sioux Falls, SD. and many nieces and nephews around the country.
Preceding him in peace are Red and Chris Cadwell Smith (parents), Dennis Dean Cadwell (brother), Rod Heinrich (brother-in-law) Alvin R. Smith (Stepfather), Mr.& Mrs. Paul and Dorothy Buetow (in laws).
Services will be determined at a later date.
Throughout his entire journey, he showed strength and determination to enjoy life to its fullest with his pride and joy, his children and grandchildren. His humor and bravery will be deeply missed. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Douglas, please visit our Tree Store.
