Douglas Browder "Doug" Combs Jr.

Douglas "Doug" Browder Combs, Jr., age 81, of Crofton, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville of natural causes. Funeral Services will be on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Brother F. Clark Wheeler officiating and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2026. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Doug was born in Christian County, KY, on September 30, 1944, to the late Douglas Combs Sr., and Josephine Bradshaw Combs. He retired from Phelps Dodge after 31 years. He was a member of Word of Faith Church and was a family man. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Marie Combs Brown.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Shirley Good Combs of Crofton; his sister, Lois Marie Combs of Hopkinsville; his sisters-in-laws, Pamela Jones, Joy Rogers, Wanda (F. Clark) Wheeler and Paula McGar, all of Hopkinsville; his son-in-law, Terry Brown of Crofton; and grandson, Chris Brown of Crofton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Hearing Health Foundation.
