Family Tribute ~

Douglas Dishon was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather whose life was defined by faith, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends. A dedicated man of faith, Doug lived his beliefs daily-showing compassion to strangers, offering steady support to those in need, and treating his friends as family. His quiet generosity and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Doug was a proud graduate of Flat Rock High School, Class of 1961. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. Following his military service, he built a long and respected career with the DT&I/Grand Trunk Railroad as a locomotive engineer and was a valued member of the DT&I Ol' Timers organization.

Doug found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was passionate about feeding the birds each day-carefully breaking peanuts into smaller pieces so even the smallest birds could enjoy them. He loved going out for sweet treats, staying closely connected with friends, and was a constant source of encouragement and support to many.

Above all, Doug treasured time with his family. Whether cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events, sharing family dinners, hosting summer barbecues, or simply being together, he cherished every moment.

Douglas Dishon will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched through his kindness, faith, and love.
