Janice Erma Gilstorff, age 73, of Brownstown Township, Michigan passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at her residence.
Born on May 4, 1952 in Trenton, Michigan, she was the only daughter of Arthur and Marquerite (Fenselau) Gilstorff. She has been a partner of Gerald Worthington for over 45 years.
She graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1970. She continued on to graduate from Michigan State University in 1974 with a BA while receiving High Honors. Afterwards, she pursued her Masters Degree (MPA), graduating from University of Michigan in 1992 with Highest Distinction. She was a skilled grant and proposal writer who gave years of service in the public and education sector. She is a former Executive Director of ARC Downriver and worked for various Human Service Agencies. She was also an instructor at University of Phoenix until her retirement.
Janice was preceded in death by her father, Arthur A. Gilstorff, mother, Marquerite E. Gilstorff.
She is survived by her partner, Gerald Worthington, cousins, James (Sandra) White, Linda Perry, second cousins, Anthony White, Steven (Elyse) White, Andrea (John) Cook, Nicholas Perry, and her precious cats, Ziggy, Kitty, Figgy, Erma.
Visitation will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 6:00 pm. Rev. Richard Hogan will officiate the service. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Huron Township, Michigan.
