Douglas McArthur Bibee, 77, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Caleb Layne officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service and other times at the home. Burial will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery with Military Honors.

Doug was born in Rockingham County to the late James Noel Bibee Sr. and Mae Cheek Bibee. While in the Army, Doug reached the rank of Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne. He held many careers including Pepsi Co. and R.H Barringer, but was best know as a locksmith, owner of Bibee Lock and Security. He was a member of the NC Locksmith Association and a certified Master Electrician. He spent many mornings at Carolina Cafe and Short Sugars eating breakfast before starting his day. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as being alone. He was an avid dog lover and was found many times sneaking too many treats to the grand dogs. He was a loving husband and father, cooked many delicious meals, was a hard worker, and ensured the stability and security of those he cared for. He will be surely missed by many. His famous life quote was, “I’m fine.” He finally is.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by all of his siblings. Doug is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol Foulks Bibee; children, Courtney Nicole Bibee, Crystal Dawn Bibee Campbell (Kevin Allen), Melissa Irene Bibee Hodge, and Jennifer Gayle Bibee Southerland; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; special nephew, Carl Craven (Diane); mother-in-law, Betty Williams; grand dogs, Jailynn Calla, Lola Rae, Annie Mae, Finley Zane, and Fiona Zanna along with a large and loving group of extended family and friends.

In lieu, of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Animal Rescue Foster Program 711 Milner Drive, Greensboro, NC 27410.
