It is with deeply saddened hearts the family of Doug D. Edge announces his passing on November 24, 2025 at the age of 76. He was born on March 25, 1949 in Superior, WI to Lucille (Pitzen) and Donald Edge.
Doug was a devout husband to Mary Jo Edge for 55 wonderful years, the greatest father ever to Andy Edge, loving brother to Connie Morrison, and the best grandfather to Alaina Edge. His work ethic was unrivaled and he was a great role model growing up, a hero to his son whose life he literally saved as a child. He was an exceptionally generous provider taking care of all in need of help, not just family and being unmatched in said generosity. His love was and always be as warm as the sunniest of days.
He had a passion for traveling and enjoying the company of good food and friends / family. His favorite job was being retired for 13 glorious years, however, to get there he worked very hard for 40+ years at Graybar Electric after breezing through high school at Superior Senior High, and 4 years of college at UWS. Extremely dedicated and hard working. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 499, Cathedral of Christ the King, and also a member of the former St. Louis Church. He will be deeply missed but finally at peace, pain free.
Doug is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lucille and Donald Edge respectively and survived by his wife Mary Jo, sister Connie, son Andy (Sara), and grandchild Alaina.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Knights of Columbus Council 499, PO Box 184, Superior, WI 54880, or Calvary Cemetery, 1410 Baxter Avenue, Superior, WI 54880.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Cathedral of Christ the King Church, 1111 Belknap Street in Superior, and continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andew Riccci as celebrant.
The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E 5th Street in Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements. To leave a condolence or sign the guestbook, please visit www.lenroot-maetzold.com.
