Douglas Roger Fricks

Douglas Roger Fricks, 73, of Ellijay, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, March 2, 2026.

He was born Dec. 31, 1952, in Dahlonega, to the late Bealer and Callie (Crane) Fricks. A lifelong resident of Gilmer County, Doug was a man of Baptist faith and attended New Hope Baptist Church in Ellijay. He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Fricks and Clayton Crane.

He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 45 years, Sandra J. (Starks) Fricks; sister, Leslie Colwell (David); brother, David Fricks (Carolyn); mother-in-law, Mary Ruth Starks; sister-in-law, Michelle Teems (Dennis); brother-in-law, Larry Starks, all of Ellijay; and special nephew, Cole Bennett (Allie) and children. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Davenport and the Rev. Jess Posey officiating. Special music was provided by Ronald and Linda Hyde.

Interment followed in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with David Fricks, Larry Starks, Cole Bennett, Dennis Teems, Herbert Wright and Bob Wright serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Mack Logan, Ted Logan, Gus Logan, Ronnie Garland, Elijah Davis and Mitchell Davis.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Willowbrook Hospice for the compassionate care shown to him.
