Douglas Fricks

Mr. Douglas Roger Fricks, age 73, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Doug was born on December 31, 1952, in Dahlonega, Georgia, to the late Bealer and Callie Lavida (Crane) Fricks. A lifelong resident of Gilmer County, Doug was a man of baptist faith and attended New Hope Baptist Church in Ellijay. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Fricks and Clayton Crane.

Doug will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 45 years, Sandra J. (Starks) Fricks; his sister, Leslie Colwell (David); his brother, David Fricks (Carolyn); his mother-in-law, Mary Ruth Starks; his sister-in-law, Michelle Teems (Dennis); his brother-in-law, Larry Starks, all of Ellijay; and his special nephew, Cole Bennett (Allie). He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Davenport and Rev. Jess Posey officiating. Special music will be provided by Ronald and Linda Hyde. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with David Fricks, Larry Starks, Cole Bennett, Dennis Teems, Herbert Wright, and Bob Wright serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Logan, Ted Logan, Gus Logan, Ronnie Garland, Elijah Davis, and Mitchell Davis.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Logan Funeral Home.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Willowbrook Hospice for the compassionate care shown to Doug.

Flowers and food are being accepted in memory of Mr. Fricks.
