Vera Lee Beal

Mrs. Vera Lee (Ponder) Beal, age 88, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Mrs. Beal was born on October 14, 1937, in Gilmer County to the late Iola (White) Ponder and J.S. Ponder. A lifelong resident of Gilmer County, Vera was a devoted member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose faith and family were the cornerstones of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Clyde Coy Beal, and her brother, Fred Ponder.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Beal Woody and Kim Beal Stanfield (Mitch), all of Ellijay; her grandchildren, Amy Rogers (Dustin) and Christopher Crump (Keshia); her cherished great-grandchildren, Ava Lynn Garren, Layla Lei Garren, Landree Kate Crump, Coy James Crump, Brantley Stanfield, and Elora Stanfield; her sister, Patsy Jean Godfrey; her brother, Randall Ponder; sisters-in-law, Ruby Ponder, Maxine Bell, and Anne Beal; and her special caregivers, Patricia Parks and Jean Newton, whose kindness and devotion meant so much to her and the family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Watkins and Rev. Brondy Davis officiating. Special music will be provided by Kayla Easley. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Ponder, Brent Ponder, Jake Ponder, Jamey Easley, Jeff Vick, and Josh Pierce.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Logan Funeral Home.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Georgia Mountain Hospice for the compassionate and excellent care provided to Mrs. Beal.

The family kindly requests that no food be brought to the funeral home.
