Daniel Perry Lynes Sr

Daniel Perry Lynes, Sr., age 75, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026. Perry was born on December 13, 1950, in Savannah, Georgia, to his late parents, Johnie Madison Lynes, Sr., and Marion Jaquelyn (Hendry) Lynes. He was a deacon and a faithful member of Mountaintown Baptist Church. Perry retired after 20 years of service with CSX Transportation. He was the last steam wrecker operator for CSX. Perry was a member of the Solomon Masonic Lodge #1 in Savannah, GA.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Alderman Lynes of Ellijay, Georgia; his son, Daniel Perry Lynes, Jr. of Ellijay; his sister, Genie Lynes (Allen) Faricloth of Savannah; and his brothers, Johnie Madison (Linda) Lynes, Jr. of Savannah and Wade Allen (Katherine) Lynes of Savannah.

The family will receive friends at Logan Funeral Home on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Rev. Sam Snider will have a prayer with the family.

Family visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., with friends received at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Richmond Hill Funeral Home in Richmond Hill, Georgia. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Harry Coursey officiating. Bud Morgan, Dale Armstong, Wyndham Stewart, Gary Bashlor, Ed Johns, Jerry Faircloth, and Alfred Banks serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
