Douglas (Doug) Wayne Gant Jr. passed away unexpectedly on November 17, 2025, at Atrium Health in Macon, Georgia. Friends and family will gather at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Gray Memorial Chapel.
Doug was born on March 7, 1979, in Cuero, Texas, to the late Douglas Wayne Gant Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Aaron Gant.
In 1997, Doug was drafted by the Saint Louis Cardinals in the 41st round of the MLB June Amateur Draft from Central High School as a pitcher. Doug will be remembered for his kind, thoughtful, and loving spirit. He loved with his whole heart. He was devoted, determined, and passionate about life and everything he set himself to.
Doug's devotion to his momma, Mary; his best friend, Trane; and Allison, the love of his life, was the hallmark of the unconditional love he had for those closest to him. His kindness extended to his animals and his baby chicks. His silly, comedic personality will always remain a cherished legacy to his friends and family.
Doug is survived by his mother, Mary Gant; his girlfriend, Allison Clair; and his aunt, Tammy Garza.
Gray Memorial Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of the Gant family. You may register your online condolences at graymemorialchapel.com.

November 21, 2025

Your heart soon will be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. My son, Michael Gibson from Stratford had the pleasure of playing American Legion and Middle Gerogia College Baseball with this gentle giant. He was always wearing a smile and so nice. God now has an Angel in Heaven looking down on all who had the honor to know this young man. May You Rest in Peace. You are gone but never forgotten.
