James Thomas Nicholson, age 81, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. Born on May 9, 1944, he was the son of the late Dallas Carl Nicholson Jr. and Frances Dawson Nicholson.
James shared his life with his beloved partner, the late Donna Kitchens. A simple and hardworking man, James devoted most of his life to his craft as a mechanic. He had a natural talent for working with his hands and a deep love for music-often singing and playing his guitar whenever he had the chance.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth Carl Nicholson and Ernest Nicholson; by several of his children, Robert M. Nicholson, Darlene Nicholson, Carl Nicholson, and Timothy Nicholson; and by his lifelong partner, Donna.
James is survived by his children: Joseph (Catherine) Nicholson, William T. (Vanessa) Nicholson, and James T. Nicholson Jr. (Tracy). He is also survived by his siblings: Carol (Alton) Silver, Ann (Jerry) Faulkner, Alvin Nicholson, and Elaine (David) Owens. James leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to carry his memory forward.
Those who knew James will remember him for his quiet strength, unwavering work ethic, and the music he shared with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
