Douglas S. Gravett, 79, of Marion, passed away at home on the morning of Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
He was born in Spruce Pine on October 3, 1945 to the late Douglas and Mittie Hensley Gravett.
An avid outdoorsman, Doug loved turkey hunting and walleye fishing. He was employed for many years at Air Preheater as a welder. Doug, who was a devoted family man, truly loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor and the joy he brought to others.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Pendergrass Gravett; two daughters, Lesa Walker (Todd) and Angie Gilland (Robbie); three grandchildren, Justin Lawing, Angel Nicole Waldrop (Ryan), and April Renee Gilland (William Gillis); two great-grandchildren, Malachai and Rowan; and one sister, Shelda Gravett.
No services are planned at this time.
