Douglas Paul Handlos

Douglas Handlos, age 65, of Carroll, died Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll following a courageous battle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Officiating will be Fr. Merlin Schrad.
A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 10-10:45 a.m.

Douglas Paul Handlos was born on February 6, 1957 in Carroll, Iowa the son of Paul and Jolene (Bueltel) Handlos. Doug attended St. Lawrence Grade School and later graduated in 1977 from Kuemper Catholic High School.
Following his schooling he assisted his family at the Red Carpet in Carroll and throughout his working career owned several businesses. For the past 15 years Doug farmed in Oklahoma until his illness in which he returned to Carroll.
Doug enjoyed golfing, bowling and trips to the casino.
Doug is survived by his mother, Jolene Handlos of Carroll; his aunt, Vernell Wittrock of Carroll; his uncle, Duane Bueltel of Carroll; as well as many cousins.
His father, Paul Handlos, preceded him in death.
