Douglas Michael Hatcher, 82 of Ball Ground, GA., passed away Peacefully into the hands of our heavenly Father Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at his home in Ball Ground, Georgia. Services will be held Saturday August 24th at 12:00PM with a visitation starting at 11:00AM at Sixes Church, 8385 Bells Ferry Rd., Canton, GA 30114. The Reverend Josh Garner will Officiate.
He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Hatcher in 2010.
He is survived by his loving wife Ann Hatcher of Ball Ground, GA, 3 children - two daughters and one son. A step daughter, a sister and a brother and 9 grandchildren.

Brother - Wayne and Susan Hatcher of Milledgeville, GA.
Sister - Darla Key of Warner Robins, GA.
Grandchildren - Kaitlyn Hatcher, Colbey Warren, Ranzie Hatcher, Eason Hatcher, Dreyton Hatcher, Jake Lowry, Jeremy Goff, Nathaniel Mullennix, Keith Goff
Doug was born in Americus, GA and grew up in Macon, GA, He was a graduate of Georgia Tech majoring in electrical engineering. His early career was spent with NASA and Lockheed Martin designing antenna for spacecraft, missiles and planes. He later became a structural designing building components. He and Ann also built houses in Cobb and Cherokee County. He led the building committee for both Hillside Global Methodist Church and Sixes Church.
Doug enjoyed square dancing, judging BBQ contests and gardening. He and Ann became active in the Georgia Municipal Cemetery Association and spent many hours helping to restore the sixes Community Cemetery. He was also very active in Boy Scout Troop 641, earning his own Wood Badge rank. He always volunteered to help with anything in the community including the Salvation Army Red Kettle program, MUST Ministries, Hands of Hope, Habitat for Humanity and Operation BBQ Relief. He regularly volunteered for disaster relief reconstruction programs including Hurricane Katrina, local flooding damage and coal mine impacted homes in West Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Sixes Church in Doug's memory.
